OMG, I haven't posted for SO long!

I have neglected my blog for SO long - I've been using Facebook more & more.

Thought I'd check in & see what was occurring in blogland.

So, I'm up late again, prepping stuff for the first wedding show of the year, Sunday 12th Jan 2014 at The Haven Hotel on beautiful Sandbanks Peninsula in Dorset.

I do so much work on Sandbanks for the FJB Hotel chain - it's like my second home!

Then I'll be starting to get some brand new pics together to show brides at the BIC show in early February.

Wedding, wedding , wedding!

I have been consumed by wedding photography in the last six weeks. Two big shows to exhibit at and then handling all the new enquiries. I thought January was supposed to be a quiet month!

I've started using this image for some of my marketing. The more I see it, the more I love it.

Another cutey!

Another cutey baby session this afternoon. Often, these sessions can be a bit fraught as tiny babies get used to a new face and the strange equipment. Not today!

This little one was smiley, happy, relaxed - all the things a photographer could wish for.

I'm pretty sure her mood was indicative of chilled out, relaxed parents, but a good sleep & a feed before I arrived sure helped!

Dirty!

you have gotta love digital photography. the things you can do now to improve an image is amazing. It opens up a whole creative avenue that wasnt there before. when i shot this image, I knew what i wanted to do with it, that's a lovely power to have. that's 2 level of creativity. i wanted a dark, gritty, dirty image. couldn't be further from the original - the subject was one happy dude!

Wedding Album Design

I have been busy, busy this week editing the last of summer weddings & designing albums from earlier in the season. Some might think this is a straightforward task but, to the contrary, I believe it is the hardest part of the wedding process.

Balancing client image choice with artistic design is not easy.

Anyway, here are the results of todays work.

even on holiday

So, off I went on holiday to France with the family. I had just bought a really cool little compact Canon camera for this kind of trip. My main camera is so heavy, I just don't want to lug it around on holiday.

So, we stayed in this really nice little Gite and it had great features. I just couldn't stop myself! Luckily my kids are used to me know & will tolerate a bit of posing!

Mostly, I want the general public to get out of my frame when I'm shooting - sometimes though, you just don't mind!
